Flexibility and Innovation Fund

About the Fund

The LSIS Flexibility and Innovation Fund aims to promote and support innovative projects that have the potential to yield significant improvements in sector practice or performance. The fund represents LSIS's commitment to directing funding into the learning and skills sector and using provider expertise to build the sector’s capacity to innovate and improve. Since the launch of the fund there have been four rounds of funding, in December 2009, March 2010, July 2010 and October 2010. These have attracted 874 applications, from which 160 projects have been awarded funding; an investment of more than £10 million directly into the sector.

The Flexibility and Innovation Fund (FIF) has been discontinued. We are now concentrating on maximising the knoledge from, and benefits of, the currently completing FIF projects from earlier rounds.
