'Access for All' was developed as guidance for teachers to make the adult literacy and numeracy core curricula fully accessible to all learners. The manual is closely mapped to the curriculum documents and is designed to be used alongside them to enable people with a wide range of disabilities to develop their communication, literacy and numeracy skills.
A resource pack to support staff development. The pack is designed to be used by those working in basic skills, wherever they are based, and can be used either as a stand alone resource or in conjunction with the printed version. The pack comprises an introduction and six chapters focusing on basic skills for specific groups of learners. This section explores the differentiation that may be required by learners with visual impairments.
The CETT for Inclusive Learning aims to provide a source of specialised expertise focussed on LDD, which also encompasses Skills for Life. Feedback from a range of individuals and organisations to this specialised CETT focussed on inclusion has been very positive and we're confident that we will see individuals and organisations working with us to enhance the quality of learner provision.
JISC Techdis has created a number of resources designed to enable staff to create effective, engaging and accessible learning materials for their learners. Its mission is to support the education sector in achieving greater accessibility and inclusion by stimulating innovation and providing expert advice and guidance on disability and technology.
LLU+ is a national consultancy and professional development centre for staff working in the areas of literacy, numeracy, dyslexia, family learning and English for Speakers of Other Languages. LLU+ has developed some web-based interactive resources which offer a range of exercises for literacy and numeracy including a dyslexia screening tool.
These modules offered at level 3 and level 4 are for experienced trainers. The training is about creating or adapting learning materials for those who work with adults with learning difficulties or disabilities. There is a section within the training on differentiation. The trainer and participant packs can be downloaded from this website or ordered free.
